There is very little to criticise about this cruise and this ship. Unfortunately, this cruise did not meet our expectations. From the start, we had an issue with a backed-up drain under the toilet in our stateroom, which caused a strong sewer odor. The best part of an Avalon cruise is the staff. Hardworking and friendly. We were on the Rhine River cruise from 4/2-12/25. We started on the Emerald Sun and then had to switch ships to the Emerald Destiny due to low river levels by mid week.
