Sail Date: Aug 2024

We just returned from a wonderful 12 day trip on Oceania Vista. We started in Monaco and ended in Athens. The itinerary was excellent if not aggressive!

The ship interior is beautiful. Many sophisticated architectural details and fine materials were used for the ship interiors. The artwork for the ship was also very nice and I believe all original work likely commissioned for the ship or selected purposely for the ship. A significant upgrade to the artwork on any other ship I have been on. We were on the concierge level which had many nice benefits. Our room with balcony was very nice although I thought it could have been a bit larger. The bathrooms, as others have noted are significantly larger than other cruise ships and very nicely appointed and that was well appreciated. Also as a negative drawback and as others have noted, the rooms lack enough drawers to really accommodate two persons for a 12 days cruise. We used all of the hanging space but the drawer offering was too limited and I had to work hard to keep the room looking organized with a logical and accessible spot for everything. Another limitation with the room was adequate place to organize the newsletters, notifications etc that are provided daily. There were semi-critical documents placed inside the daily newsletter that I failed to see until way after the fact. I also did not discover all the information provided on the television about the boat, services, excursions, news of th day etc until at least half way through the trip. *My strong suggestion here is that the cruise line could easily provide detailed overview of ship services, events, lounges etc by video prior to boarding the ship.

The ship itinerary was very aggressive. The ports were exciting and my group(ages 27-69) was committed to exploring each port as thoroughly as possible. Which means getting off early, walking/hiking/exploring all day, mostly uphill and down hill in 95 degree heat and high humidity. When we got back to the boat it was to rest briefly(maybe) then race to our dinner and maybe if we had energy left to attend the 9:30m show. For several days I just fell asleep after dinner. My point being that I never had the time to sit and watch TV to fully understand the ships offering. I had plenty of time prior to the cruise and would highly suggest they provide that information in video format. I also feel that having access to an excursion desk prior to embarking on the cruise would be highly desirable. I had many questions that could not be answered prior to the cruise relative to excursions, local transportation to the city and other details about our ports of call. Access to a knowledgable excursions team prior to boarding would have been highly desirable in my pre cruise planning.
